About TMCA
TMCA is Taiwan's first psychology organization dedicated to promoting multiculturalism, social justice, and trauma-informed therapy. It provides culturally attuned continuing education training for students, interns, and therapists, incorporating awareness of intergenerational trauma in Taiwanese families, and begins to develop a decolonization model unique to Taiwan.
It is also the first counseling association to advocate for interdisciplinary collaborations, including fields such as anthropology, linguistics, history, social media, and drama. Additionally, it has begun organizing talks and workshops on cultural and relational trauma for professionals and the general public.
All these efforts aim to ensure that psychotherapy in Taiwan preserves ancestral wisdom, aligns with local customs, and takes into account everyone on the land, including Indigenous Taiwanese, marginalized ethnic minorities, Southeast Asian immigrants and migrant workers, intercultural families, expats and third-culture children.
